God Chose You As His Dwelling Place
Under the Old Covenant of law, God chose the place where He would dwell. Under the New Covenant of grace, God didn’t choose a ‘place’ to dwell, He chose a ‘person’, and that person is you my friend!
Ps 132:13 For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place.
1 Cor 3:16 You are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in you.
Under the O.C. of law, the people had to go to the place of His choosing to worship Him. Under the N.C. of grace, you don’t need to go to Him, for He has chosen to come to you.
Deut 12:5 You shall seek the place where the Lord your God chooses to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go.
John 14:23 Jesus said, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
At the beginning of this New Year, you may be feeling depressed, a failure, unstable, insecure, in need of comfort and strength, or you’ve lost your focus or direction in life.
God says to you, “All your sins, failures and weaknesses have been washed away by the blood of Jesus! Let go of them, put them behind you, and choose to forget them!”
“I chose you not on the basis of your success and achievements. I chose you because I love you. I dwell in you, not because I have to, but because I want to.”
“Let me love you as you are, not what you think you should be!”
“Rest in me today, I say, rest in me today! The only thing that impresses me is that you come to me as you are!”
You Are His Eternal Habitation Not His Visitation!
Under the O.C. Of law, God’s presence with His people was dependent on their obedience to His word. Obey and His presence remained, disobey and His presence lifted!
King Saul experienced this bitter truth! After repeatedly disobeying God’s commands, the scripture says, ‘The Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul’ (1Sam 16:14)
After committing adultery with Bathsheba, King David pleaded with God, “Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me!” (Ps 51:11)
But under the N.C. Of grace, God’s presence with His people is not dependant on their obedience but the obedience of Jesus!
Rom 5:19 For by one man’s disobedience (Adam) many were made sinners, so also by one man’s obedience (Jesus) many will be made righteous.
His obedience has made us righteous, perfect and holy in the Father’s sight, therefore the Father can legally send the Holy Spirit to live in and remain with us forever!
Jn 14:16 I will pray the Father and He will give you another helper, that He may abide with you forever!
Nothing that you or I can do, will ever make the Father withdraw His presence from us!
You are the eternal dwelling place of God! He will never leave you!
Heb 13:5 God Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not leave you helpless nor forsake you nor relax My hold on you! Assuredly not! (AMP)
You Are The Father’s Glory
When the first Adam fell into sin, he forfeited his right to the glory of God. Mankind inherited a glory-less life! Rom 3:23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God!
‘Ichabod’ = ‘The glory has departed’, was written over our lives!
But when the last Adam (Jesus Christ) sat down on His throne at the right hand of the Father, the glory was restored to mankind. We sit there with Him having been glorified with Him.
Jn 17:22 ”The glory which you gave me I have given them, that they may be one just as we are one!” Rom 8:30 Those whom He justified, these He also glorified.
God’s design is to fill the earth with His glory through each individual.
Hab 2:4 The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord!
Today, see yourself as the glory of God! You are different from others for you are a glory carrier of God!
Just be yourself and the glory will shine through you!
Confession: Thank You Father that I am a glory carrier. You are shining out of me as I go about my daily business. I don’t have to try to let your glory shine, I just have to be myself.
Phil 4:6 Think (meditate) on these things!

This is a blog and books by Paul Ellis, who is in my opinion, one of the top grace teachers in the world. He’s also an apologist for the grace teaching and there are scores of articles covering every area of grace theology.
In case you haven’t heard of him. The leading voice for grace is Joseph Prince. In my view again, the greatest preacher in the world today. Not because he makes great statements, but because he brings revelation from God’s word in a way that people can understand and receive the grace revelation.
