CAT | The Power of God’s Word

Enlightened Mind

REVELATION – Uncover,disclose,make known,enlighten,understand.

Rom 1:16,17 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel. For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. AMP

When we have memorised, confessed & meditated God’s Word, God will bring us into revelation. Revelation happens when God brings to our mind the hidden truth that lies beneath the surface of His Word. This is the truth of the spirit realm and it’s this truth that transforms our thinking and replaces our natural thoughts with God’s spiritual thoughts. 1 Cor 2:7,10,13. We speak of God’s secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden. But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. NIV        When  revelation comes to us, God always releases faith to activate revelation. In Rom 1:16,17 (above)  Paul says there is a revelation of righteousness in the Gospel and that this revelation can only be accessed through faith; and God gives us this faith to enable us to put into practice the revelation He has given us. Rom 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. NKJV Again, Paul says that faith comes by the revelatory Word of God. I encourage you to meditate much on these scriptures and you’ll see that revelation and faith always go together.

Fast Food Style

MEDITATE – Ponder,muse,talk to oneself,revolve in the mind,think,contemplate.

Ps 119:15  I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. NIV

Many Christians do not read the Bible because they receive nothing from it. Why is this? It’s because they read fast food style! This generation has not got time to hang around long enough to be fed by God. They have yet to learn the lesson that the life and revelation of God is hidden beneath the surface of God’s Word and only meditation will release it. So how do we meditate? We meditate by reading through a verse 2 or 3 times. Then we read it again slower. Then we read it again very slowly, slow enough for us to pick up on the words that we missed when we read it to quickly.       We then meditate on each individual word. Meditation means to turn something over again and again in our minds. As we do this eventually understanding will come, it will grab our imagination, it will open up to us new things we had not seen before. This is what it means to feed on God’s word, this is God speaking to us; and once a particular word starts to speak to us ,we must stop there and meditate on it until we can’t get any more from it,then we move on to the next word. Meditation is the vehicle that God uses to sow the seed of His word in our hearts and over time we will reap that Word in the form of revelation.

Prov 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. This scripture teaches that we are what we speak & we become what we speak; therefore we need to pay close attention to our speech. Scripture teaches that the confession of God’s word is a Biblical principle. Joel 3:10 Let the weak say, I am strong. Ps 91:2 Say this: “God, you’re my refuge. I trust in you and I’m safe! The power of the Holy spirit is released as we confess God’s promises by faith and as we replace our negative thoughts with the positive thoughts of God’s Word. Confession is something that takes time to build into our life and experience but when we store up scripture in our hearts the Holy Spirit will call to our remembrance the word we need for the situations of life.

MEMORISE – To commit to memory; to learn by heart.

When we memorise God’s Word,it is received by our conscious mind. It then drops down into our sub conscious mind. Consequently when we find ourselves in difficult circumstances we will find the words we memorised are recalled up from our sub conscious into our conscious mind enabling us to put them into action in our lives.
I beleive this is the meaning of
Prov 7:1 My son, store up my commands within you. David said in Ps 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart. Our heart (mind) becomes a memory bank for God’s word; and it’s this memory bank that the Holy Spirit draws on to give us the word we need at the time we need it.
Like anything, memorisation is hard work and requires persistance and determination.Try it and you’ll see it works!
